About this event

We are excited to announce the end-of-term ARC North Thames ECR Summer Researcher Showcase! The event will showcase up to 10 projects being conducted by Early Career Researchers from across the ARC North Thames network.

The theme for this year’s showcase is ‘Impact’, with presentations focussing on the difference that applied health research can make to policy and practice.

Presentations will take place live over Zoom in a ‘3-minute thesis’ style format. Prizes will be awarded for the leading presentations.

The showcase represents a fantastic opportunity for students to engage with a wide scientific audience and for ARC partner organisations to see the breadth of applied health research at ARC North Thames.

If you're an Early Career Researcher involved in health or social care research and your project is either directly ARC-funded or you belong to an ARC NT partner organisation we encourage you to apply to present.

An outdoor, face-to-face social event after the showcase will provide a much-needed opportunity for face-to-face networking and fun! (government restrictions permitting).

We look forward to seeing students and researchers on the day!

Schedule

10-11am - Researcher showcase, to be held virtually on Zoom.

1-4pm - Social to be held at Regents Park bandstand (or in case of bad weather, Regent’s Bar & Kitchen)

Register for the showcase and social

Click on Register and indicate on the order form if you would like to attend the showcase, social or both. You will receive joining instructions via email.

The deadline to register for the social is 8 July, 5pm

Would you like to present your project?

Click Register and complete the form, indicating that you would like to attend the showcase and that you would like to present. You will be prompted to provide a title and brief description (approximately 150 words) for your presentation. This doesn't need to be final, but should give an idea of the topic and content.

Applications will be shortlisted and slots allocated to showcase a diversity of work from ECRs at all stages. We are looking for clear and engaging presentations that highlight the potential impact of the research project. For some inspiration, you can watch 3-minute thesis presentations from around the world here.

The deadline for prospective presenters to register is Monday 14 June.

Please email us at arc.academy@ucl.ac.uk if you have any questions.
